This blend of Ethiopian and Indonesian coffees offers a medium roast profile, notes of milk chocolate, maple syrup and stone fruit. A pleasing, rich undertone complements all aspects of this blend. Suitable for all brewing methods.
Traditionally Mocha Java coffee is one of the first coffee blends of the world, going back all the way to when traders were sailing between Europe and Indonesia. Ships would stop in the port of Java and pick up the coffees that area of Indonesia would have to offer. Then on their way back they would stop in the port of Mocha in Yemen, picking up more coffee. These two coffees would be blended in Europe offering a coffee blend that offered bright, fruity notes and a rich undertone.
With the traditional thinking in mind, we designed and blended our Moka African to bring a culmination of sweet citric acidity like jam on toast with a maple syrup aftertaste.
